Values-Based Recruitment
Pi Lambda Phi’s founding is rooted in the elimination of prejudice. That’s why we’ve become one of the most diverse fraternities on campus with members ranging various majors, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, and more. We truly believe in the importance of inclusivity; by recruiting based off strictly morals and merits, we allow ourselves to flourish as a group of diverse young men ready to spark change in our communities.
No Hazing
We actively recruit potential new members (PNM's) with the same values as our own. Through the rush and pledging process, we DO NOT haze. During the pledging process, you will have the opportunity to further dive into the history of the fraternity. You will be educated on the values, brotherhood obligations, and the basics of running a fraternity, as well as skills that better yourself as a student and leader on campus, in your career, and in your personal life. However, the most important part of being a new member is engaging with current brothers and establishing relationships that will last not four years, but a lifetime.
Our Philanthropy
Our fraternity was founded as the first non-sectarian fraternity. This means that members are judged only on outstanding merit and core values - not race or religion, like other fraternities. Dedicated to the elimination of prejudice, we strive to create a brotherhood that transcends barriers. By facilitating environments where people can discuss their differences and opinions, we seek to create a better understanding across cultural boundaries. Through diversity we can help make the world a better place for everyone to live in. By addressing differences between people we hope to advance long-lasting community change.
